ADDRESS BY MR. W. J. POLSON.

(By Telegraph.—Prew Association.) WANGANUI, 6th December.' The difficulties which beset the paths of farmers throughout the Dominion were outlined to-day by Mr. W. J. Poison, president of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, in a striking address to the Wanganui Eotary Club. The address wbb preliminary to an important rally of North Island farmers here on Thursday next to discuss pressing rural problems. Mr. Poison, drew attention to the need for economy in public expenditure, a better land settlement policy, extension of overseas markets to America and the Orient, and the need for the stabilisation of land values and labour conditions. He suggested drastic penalties for breaches of labour awards, and stated that the present prices of primary products did not allow farmers to make ends meet.
