FIRE IN THEATRE

REVUE COMPANY HEAVY LOSERS.

| (By Telegraph.) (Special to 'The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. Tho members of the Midnight Frolics Company, who lost practically all their property in the Opera House fire, reappeared at the Prince Edward Theatre on Saturday night, the laundry having achieved wonders in the reconditioning of the sodden apparel. The insurance was £3000 in the Phoenix Office, but many of the costumes and incidentals cannot be replaced. The wardrobes of Fuller's Musical Box Revue were beneath tho stage, and were included in the losses. Tho contents of the safe were intact. The building was.erected over forty years ago, and was known originally as Abbott's Opera House. It eventually passed into Mr. John Fuller's hands for £24,000. The chief damage was caused to the stage and the surroundings. A great deal of renovation will be necessary before the curtain goes up again. Just over a week ago inquiries were made regarding a sprinkler for the roof, and arrangements were made for completely renovating the seating accommodation.
