DR. TILLYARD ON HIS WAY BACK.

The New Zealand Entomologist (Dr, Tillyard) has sailed by the Corinthic, taking 250 parasites of earwigs intended to destroy earwigs in Now Zealand. Parasites are scarce in the present year, and necessitated a search by Dr. Tillyard throughout Europe. They cost a shilling each. Dr. Tillyard is also taking several kinds of insects, which, it is hoped, will destroy blackberry brambles. Before they are liberated they will bo tested to ascertain their effect on other plants.
