QUEEN CARNIVAL
COMMUNITY CLUB'S CAMPAIGN.
The . first of the big Queen Carnival functions being arranged as an introduction to the forthcoming Grand Naval and Military Tournament and Searchlight Tattoo will take place in the Town Hall on Saturday, 18th December, when "Good Luck Ball No. 2" will be held in support of the Community Club's candidate, "Queen "Victoria" (Miss Muriel Frazer). Those who attended the club's first "GoodLuck Ball" . held last year carried away with them the most pleasant recollections of a very" enjoyable and successful function, and will welcome the announcement accordingly that the ball is to be repeated. No effort is being spared to make the No. 2 ball even more attractive than No. 1, special committees l?.ing. hard at work in making the arrangements. A first-class orchestra has been secured, and the ball will be under the direction o£ Mr. J. A. Smyth, o£ "Joy Night" fame. A special novelty feature will be introduced in presenting each patron with "mystery envelopes," particulars concerning which are advertised.
