GIPSY SMITH MISSION

FINANCIAL RESULTS IN DUNEDIN,

DUNEDIN, 2nd December. The financial results of the Gipsy Smith Mission in Dunedin were announced by the treasurer (Mr. E. A. Rosevear) at the Council of Christian Congregations tonight. The amount received at the midday and evening meetings, exclusive of the collections at the services for the benefit of the missioners, was £448 12s Bd. Of this amount 62 per cent, was made up of sixpences and shillings. In addition there were donations and other receipts amounting to £14 12s Gd, bringing the total to £463 5s 2d. The expenses amounted to £457 2s 3d. The thanksgiving offerings amounted to £95 4s Id, and these went to Gipsy Smith and his party. The proceeds of tho lecture, which was independent of the mission, were £136 15s lid. It was reported also that the proceeds of the sale of hymn-books used at the mission were remitted to the publishers in London. They amounted to £186 6s, one-third of which represented the proceeds of the sale of books at an absolute loss.
