STUDENTS BREAK UP
FUNCTION AT TRAINING COLLEGE,
Short speeches .alternating with songs were the feature of to-day's breaking-up ceremony in connection with the Training College. Justifiable enthusiasm on the part of the students marked the proceedings, which were similar to other end-of-term functions.
. Mr. T. Forsyth, chairman of the Wellington Education Board, congratulated the college on the year's work. The fine tradition built up during the last twenty years, he trusted would be perpetuated. Each successive year, he said, saw an improvement in the quality of the students entering the college, with a corresponding improvement in the trained teachers who left it.
Other speakers were the Principal of the College, Sir John Luke, and Mr. J. Caughley, the last-named being congratulated upon his achievements as Director of Education, and all.good wishes being extended to him upon his retirement.
