The hearing of claims by eight ratepayers for a total of £5392 as'compensation for alleged depreciation, of property, owing to the smell from tho Northcoto Borough Council's sewerage system was commenced to-day before tho Compensation Court, presided, over by Mr. Justice Ostler. The sewerage scheme was completed in August, 19?.", and it was alleged that escape iof offensive gases from the septic tanks was a source of nuisance and discomfort, 'to the residents. . f : The case was adjourned until Thursday.
