GIGANTIC GERMAN SCHEME
ELIMINATING BRITISH COAL.

A gigantic scheme for the supply of the whole of Germany with light and heat from tho Ruhr has been successfully inaugurated at Essen. It consists of the construction of a huge pipe system between Hamborn and Ham in order to collect gas west to east across the Ruhr from tho intervening collieries. This central conduit system will bo connected with every German town; even as far apart as Hamburg and Munich. British gas coal will n:i longer be needed at Hamburg, ". hero it .always undersold German. The scheme will take four or five years to carry out.
