STEERING GEAR FAILS
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Ev»ning Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day.
A motor accident occurred on the Exhibition drive at Titirarigi on Saturday evening. A truck was proceeding along the drive from the reservoir When the steering gear failed. The truck ran over the edge of the roadway and down a steep bank. The driver fortunately succeeded in jumping, clear as tho vehicle went over the bank, and escaped with a severe shaking/ There was no other person in the truck, which turned two or three complete.somersaults, and stopped at tho foot of a large kauri tree. The front wheels and the springs were badly mashed, but tho rest of the truck was undamaged.
