SHEFFIELD SHIELD MATCH
BRISBANE, 28th November,
The' Sheffield Shield match between New South Wales and Queensland was continued yesterday. Queensland, in the first innings, made 356 (Higgins 36, R. Oxenham 57, Thompson 134). Morgan took three wickets for 85, Campbell six for 118. New South Wales in the second innings was two wickets down for 157 (Phillips 32, Steele not out 67, Kippax not out 53). The weather was fine and the wicket good. Thompspn played a brilliant and flawless innings, including sixteen 4's. In partnership with R. Oxenham he treated the spectators to a most forceful and productive display of interesting batting. Campbell's bowling was of a high-class order and kept most of the batsmen strictly on the defensive. New South Wales in the first innings made 280.
