DISTINGUISHED VISITORS

AUCKLAND, This Day. Tho first section of the Empire Parliamentary party, which comprises twenty-five, delegates, headed by tho Marquess of Salisbury, was met on arrival by Sir Heaton Rhodes and members of the Legislative Council, the Houso of Representatives, tho Mayor of Auckland, and tho chairman of the Harbour Board. The visitors landed from the Aorangi at 5 o'clock, and were taken for a nib tor rido to the top of Mount Eden. They wero later entertained at an unofficial dinner, after which they left by.special train for Rotorua. Tho programme provided for tho arrival at Rotorua at 4.20 this morning.
The train, which consists mainly of sleepers, remained on the.' siding, and after breakfast tho visitors wero taken on a round of tho sights. On arrival at Rotorua thoy will be entertained at luncheon and will witness a Maori demonstration. Leaving Rotorua at 4 o'clock in tho afternoon, the visitors will reach Auckland at 10.45 in the evening, and embark by the Aorangi for Sydney.
