The Otago and Canterbury representatives met at C'arisbrook this afternoon in beautiful weather and on a dry ground, before aa attendance of about 10,000. Canterbury had the advantage of a fairly strong wind and the bright sun in the first spell, and put on three tries, one converted, while Otago failed to score. The wind died down in the second spell, and the sun was obscured by clouds. Each side put on 13 points, Canterbury thus winning by 26 points to 13. Canterbury infringed and Heazlewood (Otago fullback) attempted a goal, but his kick was short. Ward broke through at the head of his forwards, but j-ieazlewood saved.
