WELFARE OF THE BLIND
(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post.")
AUCKLAND, 26th August,
The following resolution was passed to-day by tho trustees of tho Jubilee Institute for the Blind: "The trustees consider that tho Government's refusal to pay the usual subsidy on donations is inimical to the welfare of the blind of this Dominion, and highly disadvantageous to the taxpayers, and further representations should be mado to the Government to continue tho subsidy until the institute is in a position to carry on its work without State assistance. ''
Unless relief is granted a big deputation to Wellington is mooted for next year. ■
