WAIRARAPA RAGING CLUB

(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.") CARTERTON, This Day. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Racing Club was held at Featherston on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. J. W. Card presiding. The report and balance-sheet, showing a progressive year, was adopted, and the following officers were elected unopposed:— Patron, Mr. S. Cundy; president, Mr. W. E. Bidwill, 0.8. E.; vice-presidents, Messrs. Q. Donald, C. E. Elgar, and T. Benton; hon. judge, Mr. J. W. Card; hon. treasurer, Mr. Archie Clark; hon. timekeeper, Mr. T. Benton; hon. clerk of scales, Mr. J. Cross; hon. surgeons, Drs. J. A. Doctor, M. B. M. Tweed, and H. E. Webb; auditors, Messrs. G. W. Sellar and L. H. Smart; stewards, Messrs. R. N. Barton, D. Cameron, D. C. Collins, Jack Martin, A. Campbell Pearce, and D. H. S. Riddiford. As the nominations , for the six vacancies in stewards exceeded the number required a postal ballot was taken, and resulted:—Messrs. W. Howard Booth, Allen Donald, AY. Hume, W. J. Martin, H. Monson, and the Hon. A. D. M'Leod.

It was resolved to place on record appreciation of Mr. T. Trigley's eervices_ as a steward of the club. The resignation of Dr. Doctor as lion, surgeon was accepted with regret.

The sum to lie allocated for states for the season was fixed at £7000.

It was resolved that the club exoress its appreciation and thanks to Sir. T). H. S. Riddiford for his generous donation of a cup for the New Year race meeting.
