SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
• Mrs. Metealf was hostess at the Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday, when she gave a most enjoyable concert. The choruses, so popular among sailors, went with a swing, and encores were many. The performers were Mesdames Metealf, Eosenthal, and Burgess, Misses D. Burnham and Field, and Messrs. C. Harvey, Handcock, Jackson, Larcher, Gritz, Hart, Walker. Mr. Lareher and Sirs. Metcalf were at the piano. Farewell was said to the Athenic's crew, as her future final port will be Sydney. The competitions prizes came from the hostess and Mrs. Rix, and went to the Athenic and Ulimaroa.
