NEW PRINCESS THEATRE.
At the head of the latest programme at the New Princess Theatre, which opened to-day for the first time, is "The Fool," the story of a young curate and a fashionable New York church. He earns the title because he gives away his private fortune and refuses to preach sugary untruths. After ■ giving some home truths to the moneyed members of his congregations he received his dismissal, and leads a little mission on the waterfront. The story hinges on the miraculous recovery of a cripple girl and her love for the missioner. The second feature is: "The King on Main Street," a tale of one of the minor kingdoms. The supports are of excellent variety.
EMP.IRE THEATRE, ISLAND BAY.
"The Beautiful Cheat," screening at the Empire Theatre to-night, is a delicious comedy, adapted from the "Saturday Evening Post" story, "Doubling For Cupil." An exceptional cast is headed by Laura La Plante, supported by Harry Myers and Alexander Carr. An International News and two comedies complete the programme.
