NEW PASTOR WELCOMED
An enjoyable welcome social was tendered last evening to the Rev. Ronald Watson and Mrs. Watson by the members and adherents o£ the Khandallah Presbyterian Church. The Church Hall was artistically decorated by members of the Ladies' Association, who also provided supper. The interim Moderator, Rev. W. Day, presided. Mr. D. G. Clark, on behalf of the Session and Board of Management, and Mr. Macleod, on behalf of the Sunday School, extended a cordial welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Watson. The Rev. Mr. Inglis, a former pastor of the church, and the Rev. R. G. Pinch (Khandallah) and the Rev. J. Dennis. (Johnsonville) also welcomed Mr. Watson, and referred particularly to the very happy relations that existed between the various churches in the district.
Mr. Watson, who was enthusiastically received, expressed his keen appreciation of the reception accorded to him and Mrs. Watson. He said that his aim would be to serve the highest interests of the people under his charge.
An attractive 'musical programme was given, including glees by the choir, under the direction of Mr. J. P. Mackay, a piano solo by Miss M'Kay, and songs by Messrs. J. P. Mackay, Gray, and E. S. Mirams. During the evening Mr. D. G. Clark, on behalf of the congregation, handed a gift to the Rev. W. Day in view of his services as interim Moderator during the vacancy.
