FIRE IN NAIRN STREET

The Central Fire Brigade received a call at 2.52 a.m. to-day to an outbreak of fire at 70, Nairn street, a wood and iron twostory house, owned by Mr. Ernest Edwin Arnold, and occupied by Mrs. Louisa West. The house was insured for £850 in the Alliance Insurance Company, and the contents, the property of Mrs. West, were insured for £200 in the Royal Insurance Company. The contents of a flat in the building, occupied by William Ernest Tyree, were insured for £400 in the Liverpool, London, and Globe Insurance. The house was damaged by fire and ..water, while the neighbouring house, No. 74, was slightly scorched by the flames. The latter building, which was occupied by Charles . Alexander Gordon, was insured for £900 in the State Fire Insurance and the contents for £390 in the same company.
