DISCHARGE REFUSED
"A RACECOURSE TIPSTER."

AUCKLAND, This Day.
Mr. Justice Herdinan refused an order of discharge from bankruptcy made by John Black, described ns an agent. Hia Honour observed that lie noticed the applicant was a racecourse tipster.
Counsel, in reply to his Honour, said ho did not think tho bankrupt made much money at that game, and he had nine, children.
Mr. Justice Herdman: "But they're not realisable assets." (Laughter.) A woman gave evidence that she bought three flections from Black, and, paid htm over £200, but as he refused to give titles it cost her another £300 to got possession.
It transpired that the case had been referred to the Crown Prosecutor, who v&n of,opinion .that there was.insufficient evidence to convict. *
THe bankrupt staled that a man had paid him £10 a day to tell him what he must not do at the races. (Laughter.) Asked by his Honour how he had got into debt to the extent of £2950, Black detailed a series of "losing hazards."
