CASE OF SUICIDE

DUNEDIN, 21st August. Janet Milne Chisholm, aged 2.i years, a resident of Roslyn, was found dead last night as the result of inlir'vio; gas. At an inquest a. verdict was returned of suicide while of temporarily unsound mind.
The board has found it necessary, Btates tho chairman of the Wellington Education Board, in his annual reportto the Minister of Education, to affirm the reasonableness of tho opinion expressed by committees that prior to the recent legislation tho frequency of staff changes was in many instances prejudicial to tho best interests of tho school. Teachers while seeking reasonable promotion will recognise that, even hero, the welfare of the child must bo the prime determining consideration.
