FLOODS RECEDING
WATER STILL DEEP ON FOXTON EOAD.
(Bj Telegraph.—Prest Association.) PALMERSTON N., This Pay. The flood waters in Eangiptu district are steadily receding, but the fences arc still covered along the Foxton road, and the railway line to Foxton is still submerged for fair distances. The flood waters are pouring over eastwards to the Manawatu River, gouging out the ballasting, and many wash-outs have occurred along the line. In one place a length of five chains of lino has been lifted bodily and washed up against a fence.
