ONE AGAINST THE JUSTICES.
"I'd just as soon, trust one Justice of the Peace as two," remarked the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. H. E. Holland), when the Police Offences Amendment Bill was under consideration in the House of ..Representatives this morning. "Very often they are both wrong, anyhow." (Laughter.) Mr. Holland said that an accused person might get a month's imprisonment from one Justice, but yet six months from two when their combined unwisdom was brought to bear on a case, (Bcnewed laughter.)
