TOTI DAL MONTE.
Signorina Toti Dal Monte's first concert in New Zealand, which took place at Auckland recently, proved a most memorable one. She captured the audience with her opening number, "Caro Nome," from Verdi's "Rigoletto." This was received with the utmost enthusiasm, and so were the Spanish and English songs, and her singing of the "Mad Scene" from "Lucia di Lammermoor." After continued applause, and after numerous recalls, the whole of the audience stood v.r> from their seats and cheered the singer again and again. August Beuf, the young baritone, also made a triumph. He is said to be particularly fine in "Largo di Factotum/ " The Toreador," and " 0 Sole Mid." Mr. Williani James, the celebrated Australian pianist, and Mr. Stanley Baines, the talented flautist, assist. After the opening concert there was a very heavy demand for. seats for the subsequent ones, and the season proved a record success. The Welllington concerts will take place in the Town Hall on Thursday and Saturday of next week, and on Tuesday of the following week, three concerts in all. The box plans will open at The Bristol next Monday.
