CITY DRAINAGE
(To th« Editor.) Sir, —With reference to your paragraph on this subject on the 26th July, my recollection is that the City Council adopted the "shone system" few? lifting the low-level sewage on the advice of the late Mr. H. P. Higginson, Sf.lnst.C.B. The late Mr. R. L. Meatayer, M.lnst.C.E., was employed by the council to carry out this system, which he did very successfully. My impression is that the council's records would confirm this.—l am, etc., - J. P. MAXWELL, M.lnst.C.E.
