LODGE MEETINGS

Port Nicholson. Encampment, No. 6, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its monthy meeting last week, Bro. J. F. Miller, P.G., C.P., presiding. Four members of subordinate lodges eligible were obligated, and thrco others nominated. The camp then proceeded to entertain lady friends, there being a large attendance? A most enjoyable social evening ensued, during which items were rendered by Bros. J. F. Miller, P.G., C.P., J. C. E. Turner, P.G., C. E. Culverwell, and F. J. Jones, P.G., G.E.B.P. Visitors included Bro. A. H. Valentine, P.G.M., P.C.P., Dunedin, and Bro. Corban, Star of Henderson Lodge. A special meeting of Waipoua Lodge, No. 99, Masterton, and Star of Carterton Lodge, No. 129, 1.0.0. F. N.Z., was held at Masterton recently, when tho District Deputy Grandmaster (Bro. H. Dames, P.G.), assisted by Bros. J. H. West, P.G., District Degreemaster, and J. F. Steel, P.G., installed in form officers' of the respective lodges for the current term, the elective officers being: Waipoua Lodge—Bros. A. MacalisteN.G.; K. A. Gunn, V.G.; W. S. Madden, secretary; and G. G. Jack, I'.^., treasurer. Star of Oarterton —Bros. W. J. Barrett, J.P.G.; J. T. Clarke, N.G.; D. N. Adams, V.G.; G. W. Jacquier, F. Sec; L. J. Harding, E. Sec; and H. A. Corrigan, treasurer. Following the installation ceremony, the D.D.G.M. spoke of the progress 'of the Order in the jurisdiction of the district, complimenting the two lodges on their progress during the last term, and tenderVing his thanks for their assistance in making the district the premier one in tho Dominion. A motion of sympathy was passed to tho relatives of the late Bro. A. H. Meech, P.G., Wellington. On behalf of their lodges, tho D.D.G.M. presented Bro. J. Barrett, P.G., Star of Carterton Lodge No. 129, with a P.Q. collar, and Bros. G. G. Jack, P.G., W. A. Harding, P.G., and J. B. Claud, P.G., of Waipoua Lodge No. 99, with P.G. certificates. An interesting meeting was concluded with supper, prepared by Bro. W. A. Harding, P.G., and Mrs. Harding. O-Kiwi-Iti Eebekah Lodge, No. 44, 1.0.0; F., N.Z., Eastbourne, held its fortnightly meeting last week, Sister M. Savery, P.N.G., presiding. There was an excellent attendance, including visitors from city lodges. Two lady candidates were obligated. An official visit to Victoria Eebekah Lodge next meeting was decided on. Officers for current term were installed by the Lady District Deputy Grandmaster (Sister E. Maley), assisted by a suito of P.N.G.'s, the elective officers being:. Sisters E. Jones, N.G.; Sister Higgenbotham, V.G.; Sister N. Jones, K. Sec; Sister Fisher, treasurer; and Bro. H. B. Jones, F. Sec. Greetings and congratulations were conveyed by* officers of visiting lodges. The regular fortnightly meeting of Waipoua Lodge No. 99, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., Masterton, was held last week, Bro. A. Macalister, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance. One candidate was initiated. Sick pay and other accounts were passed. Star of Petone Eebekah Lodge No. 45, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting last week, Sister Parry, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance. One lady candidato was initiated, one brother also being admitted to the Eebekah degree. The various committees were appointed, and half-yearly report and accounts adopted. A vote of thanks was accorded Sister Craig for painting degreo banners. Music and supper concluded a successful meeting.

The fortnightly meeting of Rose of Wellington Bebekah Lodge No. 38, 1.0. F., N.Z., was held last week. Sister D. Schon, N.G., presiding. There was a large attendance, including Sister M. Shepherd, N.G., and officers of Victoria Eobekah Lodge, Sister V. Newsou, N.G., and officers of Esther Rebekah Lodge, Sister M. Sorgent and officers of Bahiri Eebekah Lodge, on official visits, and Bros. Corban and Urdal, of Star of Henderson Lodge and Friendship Eebekah Lodge, Henderson. One lady candidate was nominated. Officers for current term were installed as follows by the Lady D.D.G.M. and suite:—Sisters R. W. Wheeler, N.G.; K. Eeece, V.G.; D. Sehou, I.N.G-. F. Sec; V. Sehon, E. See; B. Jones, P.N.G., treasurer; W. Cowley, chaplain; Dudley, warden; Colliuson, conductor; Jones, E.S.N.G.; Bremner, L.5.N.6.; P. Reeves, R.S.V.G.; Manley, L.S.V.G.; D. Richard, P.N.G., 1.G.; and A. Richard, 0.G., The Lady. D.D.G.M, (Sister E. Haley, P.N.G.) and visiting officers conveyed congratulatory greetings, and an enjoyable social evening followed. The Loyal Britannia Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows met on Monday. Tho report of the judges of the Eitual Shield Competition was received and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to them. The occasion being an official visit of the officers of the Loyal Sister Wallis Lodge opportunity was given the members to hear the ritual as delivered by them. The positions were as follows:—N.G.-Sister Tobin with Sister D. Allen as supporter; V.G. Sister L. Paton and Sisters Bunckenberg and Muir as supporters; I.P.N.G. Sister Z. Paton, conducting officers Sister Baillie and Bro. G. Gapes; P.G. Warden Bro. J. D. M'Kenzie, Guardian Bro. C. O. Jorgcnsen, P.G. The ritual work as delivered by the ladies, was faultloss and excited great admiration. Two new members were initiated into the lodge and Order. After business was disposed of the "question box,night" took place and many instructive and amusing question were suddenly asked the luckless individuals whoso names happened to be drawn. Bro. W. Madeley, P.D.G.M., gave -lumorous anecdotes of his experiences as a farmer. Bro. Milburn, P.G., touched on the question of juvenile lodges. It was decided that next lodge night be a special summoned moeting and that the officers and supporters attend on Monday next to commence ritual work. The fortnightly meeting of Eahiri Eebekah Lodge, No. 49, 1.0.0. F., N.Z,, Miramar, was held last Wednesday evening; Sister M. Sergent, N.G., prosiding. There was a good attendance, visitors including Sisters C. Edmonson, P.N.G., Victoria Rebekah Lodge and D. Sehon, P.N.G., Rose of Wellington Rebekali Lodge, and Bro. Oorban, Star of Henderson Lodge. In addition to general business, two lady candidates were elected and initiated, and arrangements were made for a social evening. On behalf of the Lady D.D.G.M., Sister C. Edmonson, P.N.G., presented the lodge with its charter, convoying congratulatory greetings from the Grand Master (Bro. D. Eoy Cooper, Auckland). The charter was enclosed in a handsome case and honours board, tho work of Bro. A. E. Phillips, .and presented by Sister Phillips, V.G., heartiest appreciation of the gift being recorded. Muritai Lodge, No. 113, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., Eastbourne, held its regular semimonthly meeting last Wednesday eveniug, Bro. A. Hancox, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance. A re- j port of social committee was received, the various committees were elected for the current term, accommodation further considered, and presentation of a P.G. collar and a P.G. certificate were authorised.
