AUCKLAND'S COACH
APPOINTMENT CONFIRMED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, 27th July. The appointment of E. H. Bowley, of Sussex, as player-coach in Auckland, was to-night approved by the Auckland Cricket Association. Bowley will receive a salary of £500 per year for three years and will pay his own expenses. It is understood that he will leave England on 24th September, arriving in New Zealand on 30th October. The executive considered the question of the proposed tour of England. Of the three alternative proposals submitted by the New Zealand Cricket Council for financing the tour, the formation of a company was favoured. However, it was decided to ask the council to supply details for consideration by a sub-committee.
