FAITH HEALING AND CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Will you permit me to make a few remarks relative to the cabled report, appearing in your issue of the 25th June, of the resolution of the Methodist Church of Australia, from which it appears that that Church confuses Christian Science with what they term "faith healing." Even as Christ Jesus quoted the evidences of His healing of all manner of disease as proof to John's disciples that He was the Christ, so Christian scientists believe that the proof that the Gospel of Christ Jesus is preached and practised still lies in the healing of both sin and disease. The faith requisite for such healing, however, is more than blind belief; it is the spiritual I understanding of God and of man's relation to Him, accompanied with obedience to God's law; thus the healing out- : wardly manifested is proof of inward reI generation. Freedom to choose that method of healing found most effectual it a right Christian scientists claim for all men, and such /a right was endorsed last February in the British House of Commons.—l am, etc,, MADGE BELL, Christian Science Committee.
