A NEW GOLD DREDGE

GREYMOUTH, 2nd July. The New River Company's new dredge Karikoura was formally inaugurated today at Dunganville by Mr. P. N. Kingswell, managing director, in the presence of the directors and numerous visitors. The dredge is the second largest in the Dominion, and resembles the American dredge near Hokitikd. The " field is 315 acres in oxtent. and is fairly caßy to work. I'he power for the dredge is supplied by the Grey Power Board's steam generating station at Dobson, over, twenty miles of line. Mr. Kingswell stated tliat it is proposed to place a larger dredge on the Moonlight field near Blackball. __...
