Public uneasiness a week after the advent of the new Govern meut is greater than ever. The workers resent the incroaso in foocl prices. Municipalities are urging the Government to act sharply. The paper money now in circulation is within eighty-six millions of the legal limit, which is 54,000 millions. M. Caillaux's stabilisation plans are held up by lack of money from America, the price of which is the ratifica-_ tion of the funding debt to America.
