MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court to-day. . Daniel M'Artlmr pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of boots, valued at 19s 6d, the property of James AVilliam Martin. "He was seen to take the boots froin^ the complainant's shop last evening, amf when followed by the manager, he threw them away," said Sub-Inspector Harvey. "Subsequently he was caught and handed over to the police" M'Arthur was convicted and fined £5, in default seven day 3' imprisonment. Patrick Quinn was fined £2, in default three days' imprisonment, for fighting in the street. He was convicted and discharged for drunkenness. "This lad has been associating with bad company, and we have discovered that he absconded from the Weraroa Training Farm'last year," said Chief-De-tective Ward, of Herbert Hill, alias Bert Rutherford, who admitted being an ,' lie and disorderly person, with insufficient means of support. "The farm authorities ask that he be returned to the farm." Hill was convicted and ordered to be returned to Weraroa.
