PARAMOUNT" THEATRE.
Winter, with its ice, and snow—with sleighs carrying warmly wrapped maidens —with snowballs flying from the hands of beautiful lassies clad in gorgeous furs —with skaters lightly gliding over lakes of ice. With dozens o? huge arc lamps and spotlights playing on the scene described. That marks the finale of the beautiful fashion episode of Colleen Moore's "Irene" production, perchance the biggest thing this. First National star has ever created for the silver, sheet, and which commenced screening at the Paramount Theatre yesterday, and will be repeated again to-day and next week. Not in many months has a scene of such splendour been recorded by the clicking cameras. The four seasons are depicted in like manner—each one surpassing the Other in magnificence—each showing the beautiful girls in richer gowns and wraps. The fashion episode is made entirely in colour film and is something that everybody will remember for days to come. Coca M'Gcnchy designed the three hundred gowns worn, and John D. Schulze was chief art director for the massive settings that held tha seasons. This is just a part of the "Irene" production— one of the highlights of a story that will long carry Colleen Moore 'in the minds of those who see the piece. Alfred E. Green, who directed "Sally, starring Miss Moore, is responsible 'for "Irene." The cast supporting the fair Colleen includes Lloyd Hughes, her leading man; George K. Arthur, who enacts the role of Madame Lucy; Marion Aye and Bess Flowars, Irene's friends. Miss Kathleen O'Brien's pupils will present a gorgeous "Irene" prologue, preceding the picture presentation each evening. All the glorious musical score, including "Alice Blue Gown," "Irene," "Castle of Dreams," and "Sky Rocket," will be rendered by the Paramount Solo Orchestra, under the direction of-Mr. R. R. Caulton. The box plan is at the Utility Stationery Shop, next to the theatre.
