LATE SPORTING
TRENTHAM NOTES
The continuance of the wet and cold weather has reduced the Trentham tracks to their usual July condition, and only the dyed-in-the-wool tnudlarkers will prevail next week. It was very cold this morning, and heavy rain showers swept across the course. There was practically no fast work, although all the horses were out and given routine tasks.
Comical was the sole , exception, and, revelling in the" mud, he galloped five furlongs in lmin lOsec, the last half-mile in 55sec— a good effort.
The latest arrivals are Llewellyn, Thursby, Birkenella, Highway, Ranui, and Paddon.
There will be a parade of two-year-olds between races on Tuesday from the local stables, and about a dozen will be carded.
