LODGE MEETINGS

There was a good attendance of officers and members at the last meeting of Loyal Antipodean Lodge of Oddfellows, Manchester Unity, when Bro. A. Wainwright, N.G., presided. One new member, was initiated into the lodge and order, Bro. A. Hunter, P.G., delivering the initiation charge, while Bro. H. Dormer, P.G., gave the Oddfellows' lecture. The N.G. extended a welcome to Bro. Ripou, of Loyal Masterton Lodge. After a short discussion, it was decided to confirm the action of the District Management Committee concerning the application for a bell in the Carillon Memorial. It was decided to attend a special meeting of all lodges arranged by the Past Grands' Lodge for the report of judges on the ritual competition and presnetation of Steffensen Shield on 7th July. Bro. W. J. Clark, D.S., after an appropriate speech eulogising the great services of Bro. A. 0. Blair, 1.P.D.G.M., presented Bro. Blair, on behalf of the Loyal Antipodean Lodge, with a P.D.G.M. collar, and in doing so expressed the thauks of the whole of the district for the worthy manner he had carried out the duties of District Grand Master. Bro. Blair, in returning thanks, expressed his indebtedness to the lodge for having placed him in a position enabling him to secure the higher offices, and thanked various members for the valuable assistance he had received during his term. Bro. A. C. Blair was then called" on to present a P.G. emblem to Bro. A. Hunter for services rendered during his term of the various offices in the lodge, and he complimented Bro. Hunter on the splendid manner he had carried them out, and also in ritual work. Bro. Hunter suitably replied. Bro. G. Reace, P.D.G.M., then made a presentation of a P.G. collar to Bro. H. Dormer, Lecture Master, for special. services rendered over a number of years. Bro. Dormer replied, thanking the lodge, and urged. on all the young members to do their best in carrying out the work of the Order. Bro. C. 0. Jorgensen, secretary of Loyal Sister YVallis Lodge, attended, and extended an invitation to the officers and members to attend a social evening during next month.
