SHORTT'S THEATRE.

"As No Man Has Loved" will be the feature picture at Shortt's Theatre this evening. Adapted from Edward Everett Hale's classic, this picture comes as a nation's love story. Lieutenant Nolan, in a sudden rage, cursed the United States, and swore he wished never to see or hear of it again. Doomed by Court-martial to have his wish, he was transferred from ship to ship for fifty-sis years; never allowed to set foot on land. _ He felt the world go by without sharing in its happenings.' He did not know how much his country had grown, or whether his sweetheart still lived. And that loyal sweetheart suffered as much as he, for her entire life was spent in appealing to the powers for his pardon. But it came too late, and she died while waiting on the pier for the ship to bring him back, a loyal woman of seventy-eight. And he wept for joy as the pardon reached him, for it was one of the last things he heard before lie died to join his old sweetheart. There are good supports.
