A PAINFUL CONSCIENCE
THEFT FROM EMPLOYERS CON-
FESSED.
(By Telegraph.) (Spcolal to the "Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, Ist July. Having pleaded guilty to two charges of failing to account to H. B. Hobday, Ltd.. for a total of £77 10s, thereby .committing theft, Frank Garnsey (29) was this morning committed for sentence to tho Supreme Court. Evidence was given that two cheques for £52 and £25 10s, paid to the accused, were debited to ,the accounts of the paying firms, but not accounted for to Hobday, Ltd. Sydney H. E. Dix, managing director, said that Garnsey had been employed as manager-salesman for six months. Witness sent for the alcusod, who admitted receiving the amounts, which he had converted to his own use. He had notified the commission of tho offences to witness before they were discovered. Garnsey stated they were preying on his mind, and witness had always found him scrupulously honest in all other transactions. '
