AVhilo the no-confidence amendment was before the House there was a suspension of activities so far as questions were concerned, but yesterday a Whole shoal came to light, rhus helping to swell the total which is accumulating for Ministers to answer. Notice was given by the Prime Minister of the setting up of Select Committees for the session, after which the Address-in-Reply debate was resumed. The discussion was not marked by any striking incidents, the principal feature being a defence by Mr. David ' Jones, chairman of tho Meat Board, of the board's actions, and his own, in connection with tho sale of the Poverty Bay Meat AVorks. As there are still several members who wish to participate in the debate, tho adjournment was taken at 11 p.m.
