The rainfall during June was 42 per cent, below the average, 2.86 inches being recorded on 12 days. Tho greatest precipitation occurred on the 12th, the recorded fall being .87iiu. The sunshine for the month was 24H hours above the average, 128 hours 22 minutes being the total. There weer but three days without any sunshine at all. The mean average temperature was 48.9 degrees, which is just over half a degree below the average. The highest temperature was recorded on the 29th, the thermometer then reaching 60.1 degrees; 34.3 degrees was the lowest temperature, recorded on the Bth and 16th. There were no fewer than 15 frosts on the grass, the lowest temperature being 25.5 degrees on the 7th and Bth. The average daily velocity of the wind was also below the average, 157 miles daily, as against 208. The morning of_ the 13th had the highest record in this respect, totalling 524 miles, and the Bth had the lowest, which was 20 miles. The average barometric pressure was 30.111, the readings fluctuating between 30.552 on the 23rd and 29.224 on tho 13th. The temperature* of the soil below the surface was lower than the average, being.4o.9 degrees at a depth of one foot, and 51.1 degrees at three feet.
