Barometric pressure has increased considerably in the South, and cold aisl squally conditions have prevailed generally, rain being reported from nearly nil stations. Locally at 9 a.m. the rainfall measured 31 points. South-easterly winds, strong to a gale, are to be expected, but conditions should shortly improve.
