In the House of Lords, Lord Desborough, speaking on the Wild Birds Protection Bill, which incidentally prohibits the importation of foreign birds without permission,, effectively quoted A.stralia's and New Zealand's experience in importing sparrows, rabbits, thistles, and sweot briar.
