INJURED PLAYERS
(Sydney Sun Cable.)
LONDON, 29th June,
Taylor's injury in the second Test match occurred when gathering in a
ball. He scraped his hand on a piece of glass hidden in the turf, making a painful gash in the ball of hia thumb. He will be unable to play against Northants, and-probably against Notts. Bardsley's finger injury was responsible for the change in the order, of batting. ' The Australians are confident that Hendren was out at; 96. The umpire and Hendren say the ball hit his shirt.
Mr. R. Crockett, the well-known Australian umpire, says: "There is no doubt in my mind, in this match at least, of England's superiority. She out-played us in, every department of tho game. The English bowling may have appeared weak, but the Australians' appeared still weaker. None of the English batsmen at any time apparently found the Australian bowling difficult."
