MILD WINTER IN SOUTHLAND (By Telegraph.—Press Asiociition.) INVERCARGILL, 30th June. . The most unusual feature o£ the weather for June, and, indeed, for the past few mouths, has been an almost complete absence of frost. This month, for example, three, six, and four degrees of frost were registered on 2nd June, 3rd June, and 21st June, respectively, whereas in the same period of 1925 frost was recorded on 23 occasions. The rainfall for the month was 3.23 inches, compared with 2.03 inches in 1925 and 5.39 inches in 1924. The heaviest downpour for some considerable time was experienced on 12th June, when 1.2 inches fell within twentyfour hours. HANDS NEVER STILL.
