LATE SPORTING

SALE OF COUNT CAVOUR OFF

(By Telegraph.)

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

The sale of Count Cavour fell through at the last minute on account of a conflict of veterinary opinions. One expert took exception to a mark on one leg, resulting from a very old knock. The horse will, however, leave for Sydney this week, to be raced by Mr. J. S. Barrett, and will go with J. D. Jones's team, though T. H. Gillett. may go across in time for the spring racing.
