WELLINGTON V. AUCKLAND,
Keen interest is being taken in the first of the English trophy matches to bo played at the Basin Reserve on Saturday next between Wellington and Auckland. Both associations will bo represented by their strongest elevens, and the match should bo keenly contested from beginning to end. For somo weeks past the teams have been undergoing a special course of training, and it may be taken for granted that they will take tho field in the pink of condition. Members of the Auckland team will arrive iii Wellington by the "Limited" to-morrow morning, and arrangements are being made for them to train during tho day. Tho finishing touches are being put on tho Wollington players at the Basin Reserve this evening. The match will commence at. 2.45 o'clock, and it will D" preceded by a "curtain-raiser." During thojr stay iv Wellington, members of the Auckland team will be suitably entertained by the Wellington Football Association. Following tho match on Saturday both teams will be entertained at dinner.
All Assdeiation schools football matches set down for Friday noxt have been postponed.
