On tho way to the Taranaki street police station last evening after an unsuccessful search for lodgings, Charles Miller, a military pensioner, aged GO, died in a taxi. It is understood that Miller was formerly a resident of Greytown, but had been living in Wellington for some time. After a long search for new lodgings, a taxi-driver suggested that ho might make inquiries from the police, and Miller was almost at the station when he expired. An inquest will be held.
