HOSE-PIPE INCIDENT
MARYLEBONE TO HOLD AN
INQUIRY.
(Sydney Suit Cable.)
LONDON, SjSth June,
The Marylejjone Club is holding an inquiry into the hose-pipe incident. The sodden patch not only hampered the fieldsmen's running, but caused the ball to bounce deceptively. A strong police guard has now been placed inside, as well as outside the ground, all night long. Watchers gazing through the gates noticed fiaslilamps continually flickering moving over the ground. Obviously the Marylebone Club is not taking any chance of a second attempt.
