"THE THIN BED LINE."
There was laughter in the House of Representatives last evening when. the. member for Auckland Bast (Mr. •J. A, Lee) referred to the Labour Party ,as.i "the thin Bed line." • .>.w, "I want to assure the honourable gentleman," said Mr. Lee, in replying t«, a new member of the House who had;, said he had heard the average member did not believe half what he' said, "that the statement applied to,»;thepolitical morality of Reform members,, and certainly not to the individuate.. of these benches, who mean practically all of what they say, and despite the, r fact that for the time being they are in a minority, are, as it were, a i thin red line—(laughter)— opposing ' the massed hordes of "the Eeform Party in just the same successful manner as,, Sid another 'thin red line' of historical fame."
