The justly admired picture of Harry Watson, R.W.S., "The Valley of the Doone," Avhich Avas purchased at the Dunedin Exhibition for the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, is on vie\y in. the gallery, .Whitmore street, betAveen 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Ramsey Wilson and Co. will sell, at their auction rooms, 98, Manners street, carpenter's tools, furniture, and pianos, at 1.30 to-morrow. A set of Fairbanks's scales and a quantity of fireproof glassware cooking utensils Avill be sold at auction in the mart of Seaton's Sales Service to-morrow at 1 o'clock. Mr. H. Ernest Leighton reports that he has sold the balance of the unsold sections iv the "Sun-all-day" Estate; submitted to auction on the 22nd May, at the corner of AVhite's Line and AVainui road, Lower Hutt. They averaged throughout £291 13s 4d per section, or £1120 per acre. The bungalow and threequarters of an acre of ground submitted to fiction on 29th May was' passed in at £1900, not reaching its reserve. At the sale, hold on account of Captain Williams, on Saturday, sth June, the house and nearly 2 acres was passed in at £2350. not reaching its reserve. The stock and plant fetched very satisfactory figures. He also reports sale of No. $0, AVebb street, for _IGSO, and' No. 235, Tiuakori t road, at £1100.
