The team to represent England in the first Test match against the Australians, opening on Saturday, has been selected as follows:— A. W. CARR (Notts), captain. A. P. F. CHAPMAN (Kent). J. B. HOBBS (Surrey). H. STRUDWIOK (Surrey). F. E. WOOLLEY (Kent). E. HENDBEN (Middlesex). J. W. HEARNE (Middlesex). i ROT KILNER (Yorkshire). M. W. TATE (Sussex). 0. F. BOOT (Worcestershire). H. BUTOLZFFE (Yorkshire). P. HOLMES (Yorkshire). A. SANDHAM (Surrey). It is still doubtful whether Suteliffe will be able to play, hence,the selection of an extra man. Should he not
be able to turn out he will be replaced by Holmes, and Sandham will then be twelfth man.
