"THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN"
STRICT ORDERS FOR GOOD
CONDUCT.
(Australian-Xew Zealand Cable Assn.) LONDON, sth May. The attitude of the Trades Union Congress was summed up thus tonight:— Our last word to the Government vras that the door is still open. An official review issued by headquarters declares: "Solidarity and unanimity are maintained. We are satisfied the machinery is working smoothly and well. The council has received resolutions of support from the Confederation of Labour of France, from Holland, America, and Canada, offering to do anything possible to help; also messages of congratulation from Germany and offers of practical help from mining districts. '' It concludes: "Strict orders have been issued to the men to be exemplary in their conduct and not give grounds for police interference."
