ESCAPED PRISONER CAUGHT

The prisoner who escaped from Waikuiic''prison on Sunday afternoon, Charles Henry Wliitehcad, had the unenviable experience of spending three night.; in a howling storm without food and without covering excepting a blanket. He was recaptured last night at Otuku w-i by two prison officers, having gone to the pa for food. He appeared before a Justice of the Peace in the Magistrate's Court, and was remanded to appear at Auckland on Monday.
